On April 20th, Huang Jie, Deputy Director of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Otology at the BenQ Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University, shared a case study on the application of temperature-sensitive biomaterial 'Smart Protect Adhesive' assisted air suspension technology in tympanic membrane repair surgery.

Utilizing the temperature-sensitive properties of the gel, irregularities at the repair edges are sealed, further ensuring the surgical outcome. It also promotes epithelial repair and cell proliferation, prevents adhesions, and has antibacterial effects. The gel is transparent, facilitating postoperative observation.

Director Huang Jie provided a detailed explanation of the surgical procedure, the application of the intelligent protective gel, and patient follow-up records. She systematically elaborated on the details of the surgery and postoperative care.

The use of new materials and the application of new technologies have provided a simple and reliable solution for tympanic membrane repair. This is especially advantageous for patients with only one hearing ear, children, and those undergoing surgery in both ears simultaneously.
